The challenge
The Spirits Embassy sells far more than single malts: premium blends, independent bottlers, world whiskey, bourbon, rum and gin, plus its own Octave exclusives and an Old & Rare collection reaching back to the 1960s. Collectors hunt by distillery, age and cask; gift buyers just want a good bottle. The store had to serve both — and earn trust when a single bottle can cost hundreds of pounds.
The approach
We organised the shelf the way whisky drinkers think — by region, flavour, brand, style and country — and opened it up through mega-menus, so the whole catalogue is one hover away. The Octave range filters by distillery, age and cask type; Old & Rare by decade and by age, from 30 to 60 years. Product cards carry quick shop, clear Limited, Exclusive and Sold Out states, and prices shown with and without VAT.
The outcome
A store that works as well for the collector chasing a 40-year-old single malt as for someone buying a birthday bottle. Reviews, free UK delivery, worldwide shipping and easy returns sit right where buying decisions happen, while Malt of the Month and an Indie Whisky Gift Guide give the catalogue a voice beyond the price tag.
